  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to HAL….

DON SPRINGER...The Perth Australia radio program
"THEATRE ORGAN TIME" featured a selection from Don's  Hinsdale Theatre CD on their Sept 15th Program. "Theatre Organ Time" can be heard with RealAudio on the Internet on Friday eveniings <http//www.global.net.au/~duo or http//www.rtrfm.iinet.net

Christ Church of Oakbrook ..will present   Canadian organist (in his late twenties!) Ken Cowan on September 29, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, age 12 and under free. "I'm counting on him to do a few transcriptions. He did "Ride of the Valkyries" in Montreal, remember? He brought down the house with the short program he was allowed to play." From  CATOE member Devon Hollingsworth….your editor was there and concurs with Devon's comments...the program was terrific

DON IDARIUS...a longtime member and supporter of Chicago Theatre Organ, who has quietly has contributed time to many CATOE projects, was featured in the October issue of MODEL RAILROADER magazine with a full page  featuring Don's model railroad layout..which may be the oldest continous home located train layout in the country dating from 1949. Don started modeling O guage electric railway equipment while stationed on US NAVY repair ship USS Prairie during WW2.

HOTEL BAKER...started their season of Sunday morning brunches on
September 10th with David Reed at the Geneva Theatre Pipe Organ. The intent is to feature the organ every other Sunday and the next time the organ is featured should be September 24th.  Check with Hotel Baker about dates when organ will be playing. Call: 630-584-2100 for info.
Incidentally CATOE will be planning a ARCADA SHOW and BAKER BRUNCH for November...information will be in next newsletter.

Medinah Temple….according to recent Chicago area newspaper accounts the Temple building and adjacent Tree Studios are to be preserved, and the present auditorium will be converted into retail space. Unfortunately there are no plans to retain the organ and there are rumors of a possible sale of the insturment..  CATOE is concerned about the preservation of this organ as a complete instrument and is working to help find a new home for it.  A  final program on the organ is being planned for October..
Information will be published when it  is available
