Ron Rhode dazzles the
Rialto-fest attendees at
Mundelein.
Saturday the 28th of April was a great day for theatre organ fans when Ron played at the seminary auditorium at Mundelein, Illinois. The program was part of the Rialto-fest weekend series of events. The organ and organist formed a superb team as Ron selected just the right registrations to showcase the organ. He made good use of the vibra-harp from the WGN organ and the Baldwin Grand Piano played from the organ in the orchestra pit. His program provided something for everyone with selections which ranged from broadway shows to opera, along with many of the favorites of theatre organ fans. The audience enthusiasm was incredible as Ron dazzled them with each new selection. It was truly theatre organ at its best with organ and organist providing the very best that they had to offer.
In the lobby the folks were treated to the display of Greg
Simanski's collection of theatre organists sheet music which features many of the popular Chicago area theatre organists of yesteryear.
