Leon Berry's recordings "Giant WurlitTzer Pipe Organ" Volumes 1 & 2 have been released recently on CD according information provided by Andy Antonczyk and Jim Goark on the Piporg-l email list. Coronado Theatre in Rockford
      To re-open after major
                  renovation

4/17  Barton Organ in the Coronado Theatre

After a multi-million dollar renovation the Grand reopening of the Coronado Theatre in Rockford  is scheduled for Jan. 21, And the Organ  will be featured. for a half an hour prior to the show and a clip of the Phantom will be used during the show to demonstrate the use of the organ in  1927.
Bob Bates, LOLTOS president will be the organist. ( Both shows are sold out )

The first Organ show will be held Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2:30 PM  featuring Ron Rhode at the console.
The Organ and Theatre will be featured during the PIPE ORGAN EXTRAVAGANZA 5 and  Rialtofest Weekend in a concert by Warren York, on friday April 27.

While the theatre  was closed the 4/17 Barton in the has also under gone some major up grading.
The Console has been refinished as original in the Barton Red and gold  The Grifons on the console have been done in silver leaf with glazing to  match the interior (Original) of the theatre.  All new Syndines have been installed as has a Uniflex 2000 relay system  and expanded  stop list. 
The Console is back in the Theatre .. Robb Kendall of Galena, Il is doing the Electronics,  and is directing the work being done by the Land Of Lincoln Theatre  Organ Society.
The organ is owned by the organ club.
