GENESEE RESTORATION PROJECT UNDERWAY
Well over one hundred volunteers showed up for the Saturday work project to remove the theatre seats. In addition the organ restoration crew has removed most of the organ parts from the water damaged Solo and Main chambers and is currently evaluating how much of the existing organ parts can be restored and which will need to be replaced. The Main chamber was the most heavily damaged of the two. In order to accommodate changes to the theatre facilities and the blower and existing relay will have to be moved to a different location. The relay is in good condition and will not need to be replaced. A decision as to whether a replacement relay would be more practical than moving the original one has not been made. The theatre plans to reopen Christmas of 2002 (75th Anniversary of the theatre's opening) and the goal is to have the organ ready for the occasion.
If you would like to help bring this organ back you can join the
Immaculate Rodgers Trio (321) Electronic organ, pampered and well cared for. 3 manuals and 32 note pedal board. 2 speaker cabinets and glockenspiel option. Looks and plays as it did the day Rodgers delivered it. Owner no longer able to play the instrument and is looking to find it a good home where it will be appreciated
